We did it. We bought the tickets for our move to Barcelona. October 9th begins our adventure. To economize, we bought round-trip tickets, but for a one-way major life change.
Tickets are done. Quite a feat given the recent oil hikes. Not only that, but we've signed contracts this week to sell our apartment. And, I'm in the process of transitioning out of my job.
Now we have some major organization ahead of us...shipping, financial matters, finding an apartment. We came close to one as a couple is moving here for a year or two, and needs to sublet their place. But after our friend went to see it for us, she suggested we could do better for the price. Apparently it had 3 bedrooms, but it turns out one will be their storage and another has a grand piano in it. Even though they had others interested in it, it turns out they liked our profile best. So they were disappointed we weren't taking it. Getting an apartment in Barcelona is really difficult. The best avenue is word of mouth. So if anyone knows of anything, let us know!
moving.... The farthest I've moved is 20 minutes from my parent's home. Now I'm moving across the sea! With a baby!
